- Summary
- This poll is part of a continuing series of monthly surveys that solicit public opinion on the presidency and on a range of other political and social issues. This survey posed a series of questions on Bill Clinton's performance as president and his handling of foreign policy and the economy. Those surveyed were also asked to give their overall opinion of the Republicans in Congress and to rate their performance. Opinions were sought on Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Bob Dole, Newt Gingrich, and the Republican and Democratic parties in general. Issues concerning affirmative action and the welfare system were addressed in detail, and respondents were also asked to comment on crime, health care, abortion, a balanced budget, and the capital gains tax. Background information on respondents includes voter registration status, household composition, vote choice in the 1992 presidential election, political party, political orientation, education, age, sex, race, religious preference, and family income
